With the holiday season upon us, Christian kinsmen spend time in their homes, shopping malls and at family gatherings to celebrate the coming of Christ to our world.

However, in between these festive activities, you’ll find me in my car celebrating the  coming of the urban modern seducer.

Meet 23-year-old Washington D.C. native Nahum Grymes, also known as J. Holiday. Sound familiar? You probably know him from his single “Bed” where he seduced you through the radio asking you to “change into that Victoria Secret thing that I like.” This single initially caught my attention, but it wasn’t until I listened to all 14 tracks off ”Back of my ‘Lac” in their entirety that I realized how good Mr. Holiday actually is. The man is talented.

How do I know this is true? Because when he says, “I can tell you ain’t never had it” I actually believe him…

J. Holiday has an honest, story-telling quality to his music. Not to mention an undeniable sex-factor, and a sense of humor. The lyrics to the song “Pimp In Me” describe his ideal woman, “Body of a call girl/ Mind of a teacher/ That’s why I need ya.”

That’s why we need YOU, J. Holiday. Because while some people are praying for peace on earth, I’m praying for more song titles like “Pimp In Me.” So will he be the next Usher? Only time will tell, but I’m predicting J. Holiday will give R&B music a much-needed face lift as he gains popularity and releases a few more singles in the upcoming year.

Tracks we LOVE: “Fallin” “Betcha Never Had” “Fatal”
