In recent days it has become painfully obvious that the new trends in popular Internet culture are websites that provide the opportunity to embarrass yourself or your friends. For most, these websites are purely places to visit for entertainment value. However, if you actually plan on participating in this trend of sharing embarrassing moments with the world, you’re in luck. Here’s your guide to the best places to go if you’re dead set on humiliating yourself online. That said, let’s begin with Fmylife.com. If you’re not familiar with FML, this website can best be described as a place to anonymously vent about why your life sucks. Actual example:

“Today, I was getting my first tattoo done. My parents told me it was a bad idea. My friends’ parents told me it was a bad idea. I told them that people get tattoos done all the time and nothing goes wrong. 50 min into the tattoo on my back, the artist says “Oh shit, shit, shit. We can fix this. FML.”

Another great way to humiliate yourself or a friend online is to post their ridiculous text messages on a public forum for all to see. Textsfromlastnight.com is a website that glorifies drunk text messaging. This Internet phenomenon encourages you to send those text messages that make you cringe the next morning when you find them in your “sent” or “in” box. Actual example:

On a scale from 0 to 24…wait, 3 to 24, where 6 is the lowest and 12 is the highest, how freaking high re you right now”

You know those obligatory group pictures that you take at family events that nobody actually wants to take? Well, finally, there’s a use for those pictures. That use is to send them into awkwardfamilyphotos.com, the only acceptable place to proudly post a picture like this (actual example), unless you plan on framing it:

Have you ever done something that would possible portray you as an idiot? If you have, you should probably keep tabs on dumbmoments.com to make sure one of your friends hasn’t already posted an embellished version of the story. Dumbmoments.com is exactly what you think it is: a collection of various dumb moments. However, this website seems to be more juvenile in nature and probably frequented by children from ages 10-14. Actual example:

“Once i was at a friends house and we were bored so i sugested an arm wrestling contest. Soon the contest started introducing dares and i foolishly suggested that the loser should lick the other ones feet. I lost and had to lick my friends foot which smelt quite bad. He made me lick in-between his toes and everything. My friends never let me forget it -anonymous”

Congratulations if you’ve made it this far! You’ve just been educated on the best places to go when you need to disclose something terribly embarrassing. Just remember that what you post may be up there forever! Happy humiliation!
