This update is for all you “Aladdin” fans out there. Disney is not making a live-action version of their 1992 film, but the chances to see young Aladdin appear in this franchise is highly likely. Warner Bros has taken claim to “The Arabian Nights” franchise. They have currently accepted an untitled script-ment from David Weil. Although the purchase seems that of an empty box, they basically have the foundation and rights to build a 7-part movie franchise.

Growing up I always enjoyed watching television shows or movies starring Shia LaBeouf. Whether it was Disney’s “Even Stevens” or the first 3 films of the “Transformers” franchise. The 4th film, “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” was released this past week, which starred Mark Wahlberg instead of Shia LaBeouf. The film topped the box office with an impressive $100 million gross. Could the film’s success be the cause of LaBeouf’s latest disruptive antics?

There was no signs of weakness in John Green’s movie adaptation of “The Fault In Our Stars,” as it captured the top spot in this weekend’s box office. Audiences shed tears as they were filled with emotion in the very heartfelt film. Last week’s top ranker, “Maleficient,” had no need to shed a tear or two, coming in an honorable second in grossing.

It seems Disney has no plans on halting with the live-action recreations of their classic tales. Audiences have shown that they want more, with “Maleficent” bringing in an estimated $70 million during it’s debut weekend. Disney gave us a sneak peek of the iconic glass slipper spotlighted in a teaser trailer of the upcoming live-action film version of “Cinderella.” While other rumors are flying around about “The Jungle Book” recreation, we can announce that Disney will be creating a live-action “Beauty and the Beast” film.

Angelina Jolie takes the last piece of May movie cake, as she tops the box office with the untold story of “Maleficent.” Disney worked their story-telling magic and pulled in an estimated $70 million over the weekend in ticket sales. Jolie was mesmerizing as a fairy filled with vengeance and may I also add that she pulled off the comedic lines quite well. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for Seth MacFarlane’s “A Million Ways To Die In The West,” which only debuted with half of what “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” brought in during their second week of showing.
